Today we reviewed adding integers and introduced subtracting integers using the context of a hot-air balloon and the number line. Students also completed three activities in groups: integer golf, solving a riddle using integers, and an alphabet challenge. The alphabet challenge is posted below if students want to continue to work on it throughout the week. The student (or group of students) who find the word with the smallest and greatest sums will win a prize. At the moment, the word with the smallest sum is -76 and the word with the greatest sum is +49. Good luck!
Mme Roach and I are currently working on report cards. There are still several students who have not handed in their coordinate art assignment for our coordinates unit which was due in January. This needs to be handed in ASAP!
Happy Thursday!
