Today was centres day so it was jam-packed with math activities. We reviewed how students will be assessed for Learning Habits in Math, and completed a mini-lesson on decimal numbers when the denominator of the fraction is 9 (1/9 = 0.1111..., 2/9 = 0.222..., etc.). Students completed three centres today: a mental math station focusing on equivalent fractions and money questions as well as an activity station and a practice station focusing on decimal and fraction conversion. Groups had some wonderful math questions and discussions and students worked well together, helping each other learn and make connections! Great teamwork!
